Noah's Pre-birthday Party

I can hardly believe it, my baby is turning 10 this week. Where has the time gone? He didn't want a party this year, but instead just wanted to go to Medieval Times with a couple of friends. So off we went. The boys had such a good time. I was surprised by how much 10 year old boys talk about "hot girls" though. I thought I still had a few years to go before that started. Tuesday is his actual birthday and we are going to skip school and go to Disneyland. I'm sure there will be a lot more pics to post then.

Here are some pics from the fun...

Holy Cow!! My babies are growing up!!!

Just a quick post. I can't believe how big Luke is getting. Yet he is still only 3. Last week I started helping him practice writing his name. This came after I learned his preschool isn't teaching him these things. Well low and behold, he caught on fast. Here is a picture of the first time he wrote his whole name.

Then to top it off, today I came home from work to find him riding his bike with no training wheels. Josh took them off to just see how he would do and he just took off riding. I can't believe it. Here is a bit of video that Josh was able to catch on his cell phone.

Noah is growing up too. I can't believe he is turning 10 next month. Well, he decided he wants more responsibility and to earn some money. So he wants to learn to mow the yard. I was so proud of him watching him cut the grass.

New Years Eve

New Years Eve was a bundle of fun. We spent the evening eating lots of yummy snacks, playing games and listening to music. We even had our own special evening entertainment when Luke broke out his new guitar and sang for us.

Luke...could he be any sillier???

Noah and Papa...Uh oh, they are two peas in a pod.

What would an evening be without my sock monkey slippers and Batman to join us??

More Luke silliness

The evening entertainment. Sorry the video goes sideways. I'm new at using the camera to video.

Midnight toast!! We made it without falling asleep.

I hope that 2009 is a great year for everybody!!

Christmas

We had a fun Christmas here with Nana and Papa. Our usual Christmas Eve tradition to go to a theme park didn't happen this year. It was supposed to rain all day. Needless to say, it turned out to be a rain free day. That's ok though. It gave the boys a chance to bake some cookies with Nana.

Here is Luke showing off his masterpiece.

I'd say Noah went a little sprinkle crazy on a couple of those cookies.

Here is a picture of the cookies that Noah made and put out for S.C.

Christmas morning was full of excitement. The boys couldn't wait to see all that Santa had brought them. And they weren't disappointed at all. Noah found a big LCD tv waiting for him under the tree. He was happy that he can finally play video games in his room. Luke was in complete awe to find a Batman that was almost as tall as he is. Here are just a few pictures from Christmas morning. There were so many taken, I thought I'd just post a few.

That afternoon we were able to spend with family. Grampa Jerry and Grandma Leslie came over to spend the day. Jacob and Mindy & Jim and Laura also stopped by to spend some time with us. We don't see them very often so it was really nice to have them over.

There was way too much food. And goodies....don't even get me started. Nana made more sweets than I care to remember. I'm gaining weight just thinking about everything.

Luke's Preschool Christmas Program

Luke had his first Christmas program last night. His class had several songs to sing. He knew them very well. He was singing throughout the house all yesterday afternoon. I just knew though that he would get up in front of the church, freeze up and start pouting. So what would any mom do???? Bribe him of course! I promised him ice cream after the program if he sang loud.

Here are a couple of pictures of me and the boys before we left.

Well, did he sing?? I wasn't too sure what would happen, but he did. Well, kind of. But he tried that's for sure. And he really looked cute!

I got a picture of Luke with his teacher, Miss Alicia, after the program. Of course, Grace (a little girl in his class) wanted to join in the picture too.

Finally....as promised, he finished the night with a big ice cream cone.

Cookie Decorating Fun

This past Sunday Josh, the boys and I went to a cookie decorating party at my friend Kristyn's house. It was such a neat idea. And something I would not normally do with the boys at home. They had a really good time. Luke was quite apprehensive at first, he didn't think he'd like decorating cookies. But it only took him about 3 minutes to warm up to the idea. He was having a blast and really took his decorating seriously.

Here is Noah "caught" sneaking the frosting

Noah went in the kitchen and came out with a surprise cookie for Mom.

Boy did this month fly by...

Haven't been posting much. Things just don't seem to be slowing down at all. Noah finished football and we are now taking a break from sports until January. He wants to play basketball again so that will be the next sport. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it will be when both boys are in sports. Noah got his first report card this month. He is doing so good. Only one B and the rest were A's. He is really enjoying 4th grade. He has a great teacher who makes learning fun for the kids. Luke is as ornery as ever. He is such a crazy little boy. His speech is getting better. Tonight he said the word "happens" and I was really impressed with how well he made both his "h" and "s" sounds. A couple of months ago he couldn't make those sounds at all.

Here are a couple of pictures from one of Noah's last football games. He is #2.

This picture was taken last weekend at his end of season football party. The coach was presenting him with his trophy and saying a few words about him. He gets so embarrassed standing in front of people.

This year we had a very low key, relaxing Thanksgiving. We just had a small turkey for the 4 of us and hung out all day. These pictures pretty much sum up what the boys did...played video games. They seem to have developed a bit of an addiction to the games. Luke doesn't really play, but he thinks he does.

Today Luke cracked me up. He was in the bathtub this morning when he decided he wanted to have a mohawk. Mohawks have been the talk of our house for the past couple of weeks. Noah is growing his hair out because I told him he could get a mohawk. I guess that is where Luke got the idea. I'm sure he doesn't even really know what one looks like. But regardless I gave him an orange "mohawk" today. He loved it. He asked if he could wear it everyday to school so his friends could see.

I will try to be better at updating the blog in December. But I can't make any promises.
